Gameplay maintains many elements of the first game and has 23 stages of battle. It has 9 chapters including a prologue chapter and extras. Each character can also get new combos and jutsu by activating Awakening Mode. As the story develops, players will open Jutsu and Ultimate Jutsu for certain characters.

Back character support with 2 new features. The first feature is Support Types. These types are Defense, Attack, and Balanced. Each can be opened for each supporting character and will determine the supporting character's actions during the Drive Support level 1. The second new feature is Support Drive. Drive support has 2 levels. Level 1 is activated once the supporting character of the player is called for enough time. When Support Drive level 1 is activated, the player's support characters will call themselves automatically depending on the type of support they are dependent on the player's actions being carried out.
